ETERNITY AT DOMME

The French Notebook

is a collection of eight poems by the American poet Clayton Eshleman. The translations in French are by Auxeméry. The hand-bound edition of 200 includes two reproduced monotypes by Kate Van Houten.

The eight poems, originally written in a notebook kept during a 2007 visit to France, explore two areas of Clayton Eshleman’s work that he has cultivated over the past 30 years: Upper Paleolithic cave art in the French Dordogne, and various artists and bodies of art, mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries.
